Summer in Sacramento has been FUN and HOT so far! And there's more fun to be had over this 4th of July weekend. So we thought we'd send you a few ways to stay safe and hydrated so you can enjoy every minute of it.
Everyone loves fireworks, kids and adults alike. But they can be downright dangerous if not handled with care. Just a few precautions can go a long way to keeping your home and loved ones out of harm's way.
- keep a bucket of water close by to soak used fireworks
- have a hose ready as well for any rogue flames
- remember pets are sensitive to the noise from fireworks, so keep them in the house protected from the exposure to loud sounds

Hydration Doesn't Have to be Boring
Being outside in the summer heat can really have an effect on us. Heat stroke and heat exhaustion can sneak up quickly and water doesn't always cut it. Watermelon is a delicious way to stay hydrated; it contains 92 percent water and is full of important electrolytes, too.
