Spring Cleaning For House Plants

CleanHouseplant

House plants are increasingly popular in homes today. And we love it! But did you know that in addition to the love and nurturing they naturally need to live, plants also need to be cleaned? We know what you’re thinking… another thing to clean… Houseplants not only accumulate dust like any other household item, but they can collect bugs, their nests and other uninvited house guests and materials. Not only that but since plants photosynthesize through their leaves, cleaning them helps them grow.

3 Steps to Cleaning Your House Plants:

  1. Fill a spray bottle with a very mild solution of soap and water. We prefer unscented natural castile soap, but any plain dishsoap will do.

  2. Place all of your plants outside (or if weather doesn’t permit you can perform this task in your bath or shower)

  3. Spray the leaves until the water is dripping from them and wipe them gently with a rag.

5 Ways To Organize Your Kitchen This Spring

Spring is here and cleaning and organizing the kitchen isn’t typically the most fun way to spend the weekend. If it’s been awhile since you went through that junk drawer or combed through the pantry, it might seem like an overwhelming, daunting task that you’re just not up to.

However, getting organized can be easier than you think by simply breaking down what seems like a big job into smaller, more manageable ones. Here are the top five ways to tackle your unorganized kitchen and impress your company next Saturday night!

  1. Get rid of the clutter - Time to get real about what you really use in the kitchen. When’s the last time that fancy gadget left your cupboard? Do you really need three waffle makers? If you haven’t used it in the last six months, it can go in a box or out in the trash or yard sale.

  2. Work smarter, not harder - Store your cooking utensils close to where you use them, so when you need them they’re never far away. Mixing bowls should be close to the countertop you use to prep food. Plates, cups and bowls should be close to the dishwasher. You get the idea.

  3. See through containers - Space saving, see through labelled containers help you organize your pantry in a way you never knew possible! Find inexpensive containers at your local chain store like a Wal-Mart, or Dollar Tree.

  4. Utilize the lazy Susan - Lazy Susans create space and are especially useful in small kitchens with limited cupboard storage.

  5. Let it all hang out - Speaking of space, try using hooks and nails to hang pots and pans instead of taking up cupboard space. Hanging them close to your cooktop makes them especially accessible and can shorten your prep time, as well!

Remember to always keep cleaning supplies away from the kitchen where food is prepared and on top shelves where children can’t reach them. And get creative! They don’t call the kitchen the heart of the home for no reason.

Three Simple Spring Cleaning Tips

Clean.Organized.House

Keeping a tidy and organized home, here are tips, or call Rubios Cleaning and we can definitely give you a hand.

1) Everything in your home should have a home.

When things have a place and everyone in the household knows where those places are and where items live it makes the house a better organized home.

2) You don’t need 100 utensils.

Free yourself (and your cleaner) of counter clutter and rid yourself of 10 stirring spoons, 4 spatulas, 5 you-never-use-ems. Evaluate everything you have, what you actually use and ridding what you don’t.

3) Store your bathroom items.

We’re talking shampoo, conditioner, body wash, razors, the whole-nine. Seems silly, but in our opinion its rather silly to leave them out. Not only does this create an environment for mold and other grossness to collect in your bathroom but your soaps are exposed to elements throughout the day that aren’t particularly healthy. Particles can stick to soaps.

Fundraiser: Help Diego Go On His First Europe Soccer Tournament

DiegoRubioFundraiser

Hello, my name is Diego Rubio.  I am 12 years old and I play soccer on a team in Sacramento, California.  My uncles; Jesus Rubio & Jim Anderson are helping me raise money for a trip of a lifetime……

I have been given the opportunity to join other high level players to participate on a team from the United States traveling to Scandinavia during the summer of 2019. Playing on this team means I will have one week of intense training, and play in two of the world’s largest International Soccer tournaments, the Gothia Cup in Sweden where 1700 teams from 82 nations will be represented. I will also be playing in the Dana Cup in Denmark, where 1100 teams from 45 nations will be competing as well. During this 3 week trip, I will have the opportunity to meet players from different cultures and interact with experts in soccer. I believe playing on this world’s stage will give me the great international experience and could also help me have a better chance to be selected by a college soccer program.  Playing on a college team has been my goal and dream.

I would be grateful if you help sponsor me and my team in this opportunity of a lifetime. Your sponsorship and support would help us get closer to this dream.

Please mail your sponsorship checks made payable to NSA Inc to, Parents Jesus Rubio, 7813 Dominion Way, Elverta, CA 95626.
